The Witness captures the striking presence of a gaze that cannot be ignored. From a monochrome foundation of deep blacks and layered greys, the contours of a face emerge—partly revealed, partly obscured—inviting the viewer to look closer.
On the left side, a bold stroke of crimson arcs across the canvas, its raw energy disrupting the calm balance of the composition. The eye, sharp and unwavering, anchors the work with a sense of intensity, as if it observes both the room and the viewer in return.
